Spring Cleaning Checklist While You’re Quarantined Inside
KITCHEN
- Wash & put away any dishes
- Dust all light fixtures
- Deep-clean the microwave
- Clear out and wipe down the cabinets
- Clear the countertops and clean with disinfectant
- Empty the pantry of expired items
- Wipe down cabinet faces, pantry door and the fridge and freezer
- Empty the fridge, throw out expired items and wipe down the shelves and drawers
- Wash all mats and rugs in the wash
- Vacuum & mop the floors
- Run a “clean” cycle on the oven
- Wash all windows
- Dust the tops of cabinets
BATHROOM
- Move all décor into another room while you clean
- Wash the shower curtain and rugs
- Throw out any expired or damaged items that are in the cabinets
- Dust light fixtures and vents
- Wipe down drawers & dust shelves
- Snake the shower & sink drains
- Clean all windows, mirrors, sink hardware, etc.
- Clean all around the toilet as well as the bowl
- Vacuum & mop floors
- Wash baseboards
- Wipe down the walls
LIVING ROOM
- Clear off all surfaces
- Move couch & chairs and clean underneath
- Dust bookcases, TV stands, coffee & end tables, etc.
- Wash curtains, drapes, blankets & throw pillows
- Polish tabletops
- Wash all windows
- Disinfect all toys
- Clean the couch
- Wipe down baseboards
- Vacuum all carpets
- Vacuum & mop all hardwood/vinyl/laminate/tile flooring
BEDROOMS
- Wash all sheets, blankets & curtains
- Dust light fixtures & ceiling fans
- Dust all hanging décor
- Clean lampshades
- Clean windows & windowsills
- Polish or treat wood furniture
- Vacuum the floors
- Clean the mattress with your vacuum attachments
- Wipe down baseboards
OFFICE
- Organize file cabinets & drawers
- Clearly label any files & storage bins
- Shred any sensitive documents that you do not need to keep
- Clean computer keyboard & other appliances with pressurized air
- Dust bookcases & shelving units
- Wipe down furniture
- Clean windows
- Vacuum carpets/flooring
- Empty the trash and shredder
CLOSETS
- Wipe down all lighting and ceiling fans
- Clear off shelves & drawers
- Dust everything
- Clean baseboards
- Vacuum/Mop the floor
